From Silleda to Outeiro is 23.9 km along the Vía de la Plata. It's stage 36, with 427 m of ascent and 635 m of descent, completed in about 6h. Difficulty: Easy.
Descent to the Ulla valley
The stage runs along comfortable dirt or paved tracks, with frequent though generally moderate elevation changes, except for a steep descent along a paved road to the Ulla river valley, followed by a less pronounced climb to Outeiro.
Crossing the Ulla valley marks one of the last major geographic features before reaching Santiago de Compostela, offering scenery very typical of rural Galicia.
Outeiro, the destination, is a small hamlet with no services of its own, set in a bucolic rural landscape. It has a good albergue run by the Xunta de Galicia, a pocket of calm before the final stages toward Santiago.
