From Outeiro to Santiago de Compostela is 16.7 km along the Vía de la Plata. It's stage 37, with 355 m of ascent and 384 m of descent, completed in about 4h. Difficulty: Easy.
The arrival at Santiago de Compostela
It's a very short stage, the last of the whole Vía de la Plata, allowing you to reach the cathedral before noon, in time for the Pilgrim's Mass. The route has moderate elevation changes, running through forest for the first three kilometers.
Then comes a succession of rural areas with hamlets such as Lestedo, Deseiro, A Susana and Piñeiro, with scattered developments, until the path finally enters the urban stretch of Santiago.
At the foot of the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the presumably unforgettable Vía de la Plata comes to an end: almost 1,000 kilometers from Seville culminating at one of the great sanctuaries of Christianity, and one of the most emotional moments of any Camino.
