Affiliate Policy
August 6, 2026
This page explains, in plain terms, how affiliate links work on CaminoCompass. It does not replace advice from a legal professional; some points are still pending confirmation or legal review by the site owner (marked explicitly below).
Transparency about our links
Some pages on CaminoCompass contain affiliate links. This means that if you visit a third-party company through one of these links and make a booking or a purchase, Bonsai Lounge & Cafe SL may receive a commission.
The existence of an affiliate relationship is shown visibly on the relevant pages, through a notice placed near the links and, where the design allows it, a small label next to the button itself.
How affiliate links work
When you select an affiliate link, you leave this website and go to a third party's site (for example, Amazon or GetYourGuide). Booking, payment, cancellation, service delivery and customer support depend entirely on that company's terms, not on CaminoCompass.
The commission received may vary depending on the provider, product or service booked.
We have not yet confirmed, program by program, whether using these links increases the price paid by the end user. Because of that, this policy does not claim it is free for you: we will update this text as soon as we confirm this with each provider.
Selection criteria
Products, accommodation, insurance and activities featured on this site are chosen for their practical relevance to people walking the Camino de Santiago (for example, proximity to the route, type of service or price range) and, where applicable, the availability of an affiliate program with that provider.
We do not yet have a formal, documented process of independent testing or comparison. If one is established in the future, it will be described here in detail.
Affiliate programs
Based on our own review of the site, this is the current status of the programs used or planned:
- Amazon (Amazon Associates) — affiliate links already active.
- GetYourGuide — affiliate links already active.
- Civitatis — planned; no real links published yet.
- Booking.com — planned; no real links published yet.
- Hostelworld — planned; no real links published yet.
- Omio, Trainline, Rentalcars — planned; no real links published yet.
- Heymondo (travel insurance), Airalo and Holafly (eSIM) — planned; no real links published yet.
Responsibility of third parties
Prices, availability, terms, features and cancellation policies depend on the external providers and may change at any time.
Always review the terms shown directly by the provider before completing a booking or purchase.
