From Mombuey to Puebla de Sanabria is 31.7 km along the Vía de la Plata. It's stage 27, with 368 m of ascent and 332 m of descent, completed in about 8h. Difficulty: Moderate.

To the capital of the Sanabria district

It's a long stage that runs through terrain more wooded and rugged than in previous stages, characterized by numerous intermediate hamlets. The path runs parallel to the N-525 road and the A-52 motorway.

Valdemerilla, Cernadilla, San Salvador de Palazuelo, Entrepeñas, Asturianos, Palacios de Sanabria, Remesal, Otero de Sanabria and Triufé are the many settlements along the way, offering good opportunities to rest.

Puebla de Sanabria, the destination, is the capital of the Sanabria district and a very touristy town, with a magnificent medieval old town. It offers plenty of accommodation options, from affordable hostels to rural hotels right in the historic center.
